12w04a is the second snapshot for Java Edition 1.2.1, released on January 26, 2012,[1] which adds ocelots, jungle saplings, bottles o' enchanting, and fire charges.

Jungle Sapling

  • Can be grown into the new jungle trees.
  • Growing a 4×4 square of jungle saplings to create large jungle trees.

Bottle o' Enchanting

  • Can be thrown similarly to splash potions and spawns experience orbs upon breaking.

Fire Charge

  • Can be shot out of dispensers to launch fireballs and can be placed to create fire.

Ocelot Spawn Egg

  • Spawns the ocelot mob.

Ocelots and cats

  • New jungle-specific mob that can be tamed with raw fish.
  • Ocelots turn into cats when tamed.

Trivia

  • In the title screen, when the language is set to Afrikaans, this snapshot includes a phrase in English calling the user a racial slur in place of the Singleplayer button's text. Mojang lead developer Jens Bergensten acknowledged the problem and explained that it was the result of a prankster abusing the open translation system. The offensive content was removed in the next snapshot, and the responsible user was banned.
