A potato battery is a toggleable block that emits a redstone signal and damages entities above it when activated in 24w14potato.

Usage

Redstone signal

When used, a potato battery toggles its state. When active, it emits a redstone signal of 15.

Damage

If an entity is on top of it while it is active, the entity is damaged by 0.5HP♥ × 0.25 per tick. However, due to damage immunity, the entity actually receives damage only every half a second.

Issues

Issues relating to "Potato Battery" are not maintained on the bug tracker because it is an April Fools' joke, and is therefore not in the newest stable version or snapshot. Issues reported there are closed as "Invalid".

Trivia

  • In real life, potato batteries are a type of electrochemical battery often created for educational purposes. These batteries employ reactions between copper and zinc electrodes and the acidic electrolytes inside the potato to produce power.
