A batato is a modified version of the bat, with a poisonous potato replacing the body and head of the mob. It has the same AI as the regular bat.
Spawning
Batatos can spawn in groups of 8-16 in the Potato dimension under the same conditions as bats (light level of 3 or less at any height on opaque blocks that are not directly exposed to the sky. They also need at least 1.5 air blocks.)

Issues
Issues relating to "Batato" are not maintained on the bug tracker because it is an April Fools' joke, and is therefore not in the newest stable version or snapshot. Issues reported there are closed as "Invalid".
