v0.13.0 alpha is a major update to Pocket Edition and the Windows 10 Edition Beta that was released on November 19, 2015. It adds many new features primarily focused on redstone and its mechanics, including redstone torches, levers, trapped chests, tripwire hooks, and more. Other new additions includes rabbits, desert pyramids, and new skin packs.

Upon the release of 0.13, Mojang also released an official redstone-interactive map, including all the various redstone mechanics included in the update.

  • Rabbit
      • Have several changes that were later ported to Java Edition 1.9:
      • Only spawn in forests, deserts, and snowy biomes.
        • Camouflaged to hide in the biomes.
      • Smaller, and have less health than in Java Edition.
      • Only spawn in forests, deserts, and snowy biomes.
      • Flee from players and most hostile mobs, in addition to wolves.
      • They have 6 possible fur color variations.
        • Variation depends on the biome that they spawn in.
        • There is a 5% chance that a baby rabbit will have coloration matching the current biome even if the parents do not.
      • Has a 10% chance of dropping rabbit's foot when killed by the player.
      • Are drawn to and will eat carrot crops.
        • Reduces the crops' growth stage by one, only removing the crop if it is at the lowest stage.

    • Light is now emitted from below the Nether.
    • Removed the Coral material which served no purpose.[1]
    • Hotbar item count is now at the bottom corner of the selected item (if stackable) and has PC text.

    • Flowers created using bone meal now depend on the biome.

    • Now breaks in 6.5 seconds rather than 3.
  • Stonecutter
    • Removed the crafting ability of the stonecutter. Items previously craftable using it are now crafted in the crafting table.
    • Unavailable in Survival. Only available in Creative as a decorative block.
  • Plants
    • Now make particles when grown with bone meal.
