This guide is a simplified overview of all the changes in the Bedrock Edition 0.9.x releases, which assumes at least some familiarity with Bedrock Edition 0.8.x releases.

Mobs

New

  • New mob spawning algorithm.
  • Mobs are lighter in color when injured.
  • Passive mobs now spawn in groups.
  • Increase the health of all mobs to the values in Java Edition.
  • The game now spawns fewer mobs, clearing out old hostile mobs.

Zombie
  • Zombie AI and mechanics have been changed to make them more team-like.
  • When attacked, there is a small probability of spawning more zombies.
Spider
  • Now generates on leaves, making tree biomes have more spiders at night.

  • Line of sight no longer passes through solid blocks.
Creeper
  • Go faster now.
