- Removed the
Coralmaterial which served no purpose[2] - Items can now be dragged and dropped within the inventory (expiremental)
- Hotbar item count is now at the bottom corner of the selected item (if stackable) and has Java Edition font
- Game data is now expressed in JSON files (see here for an example)[3]
- Flowers created using bonemeal now depend on the biome

- Stonecutter
- Removed the crafting ability of the stonecutter. Items previously craft-able using it are now crafted in the crafting table
- Unavailable in Survival. Only available in Creative as a decorative block
- Redstone dust is now placeable
- String is now placeable
- Iron doors
- Now functional
- Can be crafted in Survival mode
Mobs
Non-mob entities
- Are now slightly faster than sprinting
- Will not deplete hunger
- Players can now use items and attack immediately after they stop rowing

v0.13.0 alpha build 2[4] is the second build version released for v0.13.0.
Changes
- Obsidian now breaks in 6.5 seconds rather than 3.
- Minecarts now stack on top of each other.
- Villagers now open doors of all kinds.
Fixes
- The terrain doesn't flicker invisible anymore when too many chunks are active.
- Fixed a crash when it's night in a village and you're holding a door not made of oak.
- The held item's movement in first person is more fluid now.
- Fixed mobs disappearing after going through a portal.
- Removed redundant tripwire recipes.
- Single pieces of redstone dust now only get powered from below.
- Doors now pop correctly when destroyed by removing the block below them.
- Mobs aren't pulled immediately back into minecarts after being thrown out.
- Ocelot mob heads don't disappear anymore.
- Block of redstone is now properly translated.
- Fixed item duplication glitch in the anvil.
- Fixed various redstone-related bugs and inconsistencies.
- Fixed corrupted images in the language screen.

Changes
- Block lag significantly reduced
- Updated the textures of all doors in the inventory
- Ghasts and slimes now have a higher spawn rate
- Tripwire outputs power when broken with anything other than shears
Fixes
- Localized the "New" button
- Skeletons now burn during daytime
- Fixed apples inflicting poison
- Minecarts placed on a powered rail next to an opaque block will now move in the right direction
- Fixed detector rails saving their ON/OFF state incorrectly

v0.13.0 alpha build 5[7] is the fifth and final build released for v0.13.0, and the final build released in 2015.
Fixes
- Redstone clocks are now a bit slower and remain in sync with NOT gates
- Redstone dust now aligns correctly on vertical sections
- Redstone torches don't keep their state too long anymore
- Changes some pixels in the new skin pack
- Fire TV users now can look around with the controller
