Nether Wastes is the second other dimensions mission in Minecraft Dungeons, and is part of the Flames of the Nether DLC. It is unlocked after the completion of Squid Coast, and completing Nether Wastes unlocks Warped Forest and Basalt Deltas.
Appearance and description
Nether Wastes is a vast pathway of netherrack suspended over lava. It is littered with nether brick ruins and bridges that have mob spawners scattered across them. It features blackstone and netherite machinery, fire, volcanoes, crimson foliage, redstone lamps, magma blocks, banners made of gold blocks, nether beacons, and open-flame torches. Before entering the main area of Nether Wastes, heroes must navigate across the bridge to the north-west in Steppe to reach an entrance door. After entering the door to reach the main path of the mission, a long pathway leading to a blackstone gate can be found. This gate must be lowered by using the nether beacon found next to it, and not long afterwards another gate can be found that must be lowered by defeating an ambush. Upon navigating past the nether brick bridges and ruins, a third gate with another nether beacon can be found, with said nether beacon activating another ambush. Upon defeating the ambush and navigating to the north, a bridge can be found that must be extended using a third nether beacon, granting access to a nether brick structure with an exit door that, if entered, ends the mission.
