Story Mode:Exclusive features
This is the list of features that are either completely new or derivative features that are available exclusively to Minecraft: Story Mode or Minecraft: Story Mode - Season Two. This does not pertain to characters or gameplay. It should also be noted that all textures that Minecraft: Story Mode used as a base have become outdated due to the Texture Update and almost all textures were also additionally modified.
Unique additions
These features are either features with completely new designs or concepts and are not derived from an existing design from Minecraft.
Blocks in the background
- Coral
- As Minecraft: Story Mode - Season Two was made before Update Aquatic, they wanted to use coral and oceanic flora for the surrounding waters of the Sea Temple. They contacted Nandonalt and asked him if they could use his mod Coral Reef in the game. He agreed and they used them with some color tweaks to fit.
- Door
- Doors don't position in blocks as they do in the base game. Doorframes create the illusion that they fit in the wall creating what looks like slabs on top and vertical slabs framing the doors.

These replace redstone lamps hanging from the ceiling after the lights go out.

- Because Season One was made before the World of Color Update, most of the wool uses the old colors.
