Bats are flying mammals commonly found in caves and in any dark areas of the Overworlds. They often appear in the background throughout both seasons.

Behavior

Just like in Minecraft, bats are friendly creatures that only serve as ambience and do not attack humans.

History

While falling from a bridge during The Order of the Stone, many bats are seen flying near Petra and Jesse. Petra punched a one while she is falling.

On the search for the temple of the Order of the Stone, if Jesse's gang decided to make a dirt hut, two bats can be seen flying in the distance.

In Assembly Required, one of the Ellegaard's circuits spawns bats when activated by Jesse.

Bats can been flying above the statues in Soren's fortress.

In The Last Place You Look, bats also appear in one of the water pipes of Soren's mob grinder. The bats would either swarm around Jesse or fly away.

In the beginning of A Block and a Hard Place, multiple bats can be seen flying above the jungle biome.

In the beginning of A Portal to Mystery, a bat is caught on Jesse's face when they falls from the sky.

During Access Denied, bats are seen chasing Jesse and his friends out of a portal in the portal network.

In A Journey's End?, Jesse can see a hanging bat through a window in Hadrian's palace. The bat will fly away if Jesse chooses to tap the window. He/she also calls it "Batsy."

In the introduction sequence of Above and Beyond, a bat was flying around the twisted Beacontown in the episode's introduction. This is a parallel to the flying parrot in Hero in Residence.
