A netherite chestplate is the strongest tier of chestplate available, only obtainable by upgrading a diamond chestplate using a netherite ingot and netherite upgrade in a smithing table. Like all netherite armor, this chestplate provides 10% knockback resistance when worn, and is completely immune to burning from fire and lava, both when worn and in item form.

When worn, a netherite chestplate provides 8 (🛡🛡🛡🛡) armor points, 3 (🛡🛡) armor toughness, and 1 (10%) knockback resistance.

A netherite chestplate can also be repaired in an anvil by adding netherite ingots, with each ingot restoring 25% the chestplates' maximum durability, rounded down. Two chestplates of the same tier can also be combined in an anvil. Both methods using the anvil preserves the chestplate's enchantments.

Armor trimming

It is possible to upgrade armor with trims. This requires a smithing template, a chestplate, and an ingot or crystal (iron ingot, copper ingot, gold ingot, netherite ingot, emerald, redstone dust, lapis lazuli, amethyst shard, nether quartz, diamond, or resin brick).

These trims have no effect on the gameplay or strength of the armor.
