A pig is a mammalian swine-like creature featured within A Minecraft Movie.

Appearance

These blocky and rectangular swine, coming in at about a meter in height, exhibit superficial similarities to that of Earth pigs. Possessing a large flat snout, floppy ears, a curly tail, and nougat colored fur. They goofily walk around on short nubby legs with black hooves, and hold their shoulders higher than their head.

When killed, pigs will turn into porkchops.

Behavior

While not featured prominently within the film, pigs appear to be docile half-witted livestock animals kept and raised by villagers. They generally mind their own business, and wander aimlessly in search of food.

Biography

While plenty of pigs are featured in background and establishing shots within their pens, their most notable contribution to the film is when Steve escorts Henry, Natalie, Garrett, and Dawn to Midport Village. Here, after Steve introduces them to the villagers, a pig is seen crossing the street while wearing a gold crown encrusted with multicolored gems. Henry asks Steve if he's some kind of king, to which Steve answers by calling the pig a legend. The pig is not elaborated on further.

Trivia

• The crown-wearing pig featured at Midport Village is a direct reference to the late Technoblade, a Minecraft YouTuber whose avatar was a humanoid pig character wearing a crown and a king's robe.
• Interestingly, unlike their Minecraft counterparts, pigs greatly resemble the film's piglins, possessing the same color scheme, facial structure, and hoof anatomy as each other.
