TNT (short for trinitrotoluene) is a block with explosive capabilities owned and commonly used by Steve.

Appearance

Blocks of TNT consists of 16 sticks of red dynamite, with a long fuse on the top connected together, sticking out. Connecting the dynamite is a white strap labeled "TNT".

In A Minecraft Movie Live Event, they can be seen in more forms, including conventional dynamite. Unlike full TNT, the white strap lacks any text, and the fuse is more straight, as well as black. Another variation utilizes a barrel, with the TNT strap placed around it instead of the explosive.

Properties

When lit on fire or infused with redstone energy, the TNT explodes, similar to a creeper, but it can explode into clouds of fiery smoke instead of sparks.

History

At some point in the past, Steve amassed a collection of TNT and placed them in his stash of valuables. Upon meeting up with a group of people from Earth, Steve took them in and promised to help them return home, requiring they acquire an Earth Crystal from the Woodland Mansion. While preparing for the expedition, Steve mentioned he owned several tons of TNT.

After claiming the Earth Crystal, the heroes tried to evacuate the mansion, only to get cornered by Malgosha on the bridge outside. Seizing the Orb of Dominance from them, she orders for their death at the hands of several seekers, armed with TNT. Hoping to redeem himself for prior impulses, Garrett sacrificed himself, taking on the army head-on so his friends could escape. In the process, he was assumed to have died in the resulting explosion. With the power of the Orb in her hands, Malgosha brought about the Great Darkening, leaving the heroes vulnerable and forced to regroup. While preparing for the ensuing war, Steve supplied equipment from a variety of sources to create traps and weapons. Dawn did the honors of testing TNT, using a redstone mechanism to take out a group of skeletons.
