Tutorial:Obtaining every music disc
This tutorial covers strategies to obtain each type of music disc. Music discs are essential for duplicating allays and collecting every music disc could be pursued as a personal challenge.
Mob loot
Discs made by C418
All music discs made by C418 (Daniel Rosenfeld) are renewable, and can be obtained if a skeleton, bogged, or stray shot kills a creeper. It is recommended to set up a music disc farm for this. Additionally, if a skeleton or stray with an arrow lit on fire (either from having a bow enchanted with Flame or by shooting through lava) hits a block of TNT which explodes a creeper, it will drop a music disc.
Tears
The music disc Tears is dropped by ghasts when killed by a deflected fireball.
Ghasts spawn in three Nether biomes: soul sand valley, basalt deltas and nether wastes. When a ghast shoots a fireball at you, wait until it comes close, and then attack the fireball to send it flying back to the ghast. The reflected fireball goes roughly in the direction your crosshair is pointing in, so you can aim at the position where the ghast is about to fly to.
To reflect the fireball without endangering yourself too much, you should face the fireball, stand slightly to the side, and start spam-clicking the attack button as the fireball comes close. The fireball can be attacked slightly outside its hitbox, so even if you fail to hit the fireball, it flies past you without dealing damage. The spam-clicking is beneficial because the time window to hit the fireball is very short.
The above method is, however, very dangerous for unskilled players. A safer method is to shoot a projectile, such as an arrow or a snowball, at the fireball. When hit with a projectile, the fireball moves in the direction that the player is facing, and this can be used to more accurately aim the projectile at the ghast.
Make sure that the ghast is flying above terrain while killing it, to prevent the music disc from falling into lava.
Lava Chicken
The music disc Lava Chicken is dropped by chicken jockeys, but only when the zombie is killed before the chicken. The hardest part of obtaining the disc is finding a chicken jockey, since they can be very rare.
The easiest way to find chicken jockeys is by running through a large plains or savanna biome. Zombie variants, such as husks, do not drop the disc, so try to avoid deserts. Additionally, mountainuous terrain, heavily forested biomes, or a lot of water can make it harder to find new mobs, and some biomes have additional difficulties, such as strays in cold biomes and creakings in pale gardens.
To increase the chance of finding chicken jockeys, make sure to fill the biome with a lot of chickens. Because you need to run through the biome to refresh the mob spawning, you need to feed the chickens so they don't despawn. When there are enough chickens, chicken jockeys have a chance of 0.4875% to spawn in Java Edition.
In Bedrock Edition, directly spawning chicken jockeys are much rarer, but other mounts can also be changed into a chicken jockey. 15% of baby zombies are able to mount other mobs. In most cases, this will be an adult zombie since the spawn group often contains more adult zombies. To let the baby zombie ride a chicken, you need to kill the mob the baby is riding. Next, the baby zombie will chase after you and you can lure it to a chicken. As soon as the zombie is close enough to the chicken, it will start mounting and you have a chicken jockey.

In Bedrock Edition, mellohi and wait can be found in buried treasure chests.
Pigstep
Pigstep can be found in bastion chests.
otherside
otherside can be found in stronghold and monster room chests. It can also be found in ancient city chests excluding ice box chests.

Relic
Relic has an 8.3% chance of being obtained by brushing suspicious gravel in trail ruins.
Creator
Creator has a 7.5% chance of generating as ominous vault loot in trial chambers.
Creator (Music Box)
Creator (Music Box) has a 1.4% chance of generating in a corridor pot in trial chambers.
Precipice
Precipice has a 4.2% chance of generating in a vault and reward chest in trial chambers.
