Tutorial:Weeping and Twisting Vine farming
Nether vine farming is the process of farming weeping and twisting vines, using bone meal or growth mechanics, and with a system to harvest the grown vines and collect the drops.
Why bother?
Nether vines can be used in composters to farm bone meal and can be used to climb on up and down. Since there are no bubble elevators in the Nether and Nether vines are both cheaper and faster than ladders, they are one of the most useful forms of vertical transportation in the Nether. Nether vines can be used to break your fall in the Nether if you have not acquired powder snow yet. Nether vines can also make a good aesthetic use for some builds.
Manual farming
Manual farming is very simple. For twisting vines, the mechanics work the same as bamboo, just plant them and when they increase in height harvest the extra using shears (for a 100% drop rate). Weeping vines work in the same way, except that they grow upside down.
