A bed is a piece of furniture that is used as a place to sleep, rest, and relax. Beds appear multiple times throughout the series, both as background elements and as an item that can influence a character's fate.
History
After returning to the temple of the Order of the Stone in Assembly Required, Jesse can choose whether to stay the night or leave immediately. If Jesse stays, the group sleeps in beds.
In the Oasis during Below the Bedrock, Xara angrily mourns the destruction of her town and her house, lamenting that she has not slept in years after everything.
Later, at Fred's Keep, Jesse can win a trivia contest. If successful, Jesse may have the choice to jump on Fred's bed in his house. If Jesse loses, Kent gets to sleep on it instead.
At the admins’ Cabin, three beds are placed incorrectly. After Jesse solves the puzzle, a one-block hole opens beneath Xara's bed. Jesse picks up the bed, revealing one of Fred's journals. Jesse can later give the bed to Xara, who, in gratitude, stays behind in the Underneath to fight off monsters and help Jesse's group escape. If Jesse does not give her the bed, she abandons the group, heads to Beacontown, and is killed by Romeo.

- This was the only iteration of both the blue bed and the purple bed before the World of Color update in Java Edition and the Discovery Update in Bedrock Edition. Both the blue bed and the purple bed item textures were recreated for the Discovery Update in Bedrock Edition.
