A slime block is a bouncy block that allows characters to jump higher than normal. It is also a key component in certain redstone contraptions, including flying machines.
History
Slime blocks first appear in The Order of the Stone, where one is showcased at Ivy’s slime booth. Jesse later crafted one which Olivia grabbed and placed, and he then used it to disrupt Sigge's chicken machine.
Throughout the series, slime blocks are used in various inventions, including the redstone machines in Redstonia and in the Far Lands chasm right after Ivor's maze.
In A Journey's End?, Hadrian and Mevia used slime blocks against Jesse.
In Hero in Residence, slime blocks were used in the slime diving game for Founding Day. Jesse could choose to help at the game and take the first dive.
Properties
Slime blocks provide a strong bounce effect, allowing mobs to reach heights greater than normal jumps. They can also be used in redstone mechanisms, where they move adjacent blocks.
