Behavior

Attack
Mountaineers behave similarly to the old AI of vindicators before 1.7.2.0, running up to the hero and attacking them via melee, with their axes. They have a delay and cannot move when they are attacking.
Brace

Mountaineers place their axe into the ground when in contact with the wind in order to not be blown away.

Trivia
- Except for when stunned, mountaineers are almost always squinting or half-closing their eyes.
- In the artwork for the Howling Peaks, mountaineers can be seen climbing the peaks while using axes.
- Despite behaving like vindicators, mountaineers are not a vindicator variant.
- Mountaineer axes resemble ice axes, which are tools used by climbers to traverse ice or other slippery objects. They are often referred to as picks due to their appearance despite the fact that they are an axe variant.
