Dawn Runcie^[1] is one of the main protagonists of A Minecraft Movie and the neighbor of Henry and Natalie, played by Danielle Brooks. She is the fifth and most recent human to enter the Overworld.

Appearance

Dawn is a woman with dark skin, brown eyes, and short black afro hair. When entering the Overworld, she is wearing a purple, orange, and white jacket, matching pants, a green fanny pack, large circular earrings, and white sneakers.

Personality

Dawn is a mature yet quietly sad woman, longing for a more optimistic world. She works at several jobs, not quite enjoying any of them, but pushes forward thanks to her love of animals. Upon entering the Overworld she is shown having a sassy, skeptical personality, especially towards Garrett, who she appears to not be fond of.

Powers and abilities

Upon emerging through the Earth Portal, she is propelled higher and farther than the rest, surviving a bottom-first landing. Upon getting access to weapons such as a shovel, she discovers she is quite formidable in combat, overpowering several piglins. By her second known night, she is able to effortlessly kill and neutralize several monsters who had previously caused her great distress.

Biography

In A Minecraft Movie, Henry and Natalie meet Dawn when moving into their new house in Chuglass, Idaho. Dawn is Natalie's estate agent, though she expresses interest in opening a mobile zoo called Zoo on Wheels, keeping numerous animals in her car. When Henry enters the mine with Garrett Garrison, Dawn tells Natalie about his whereabouts and offers to drive her there. She leaves her animals locked in her car and caged while she is in the mine. Upon finding Henry, Dawn is the fourth person to get sucked into the Earth Portal alongside the rest of the gang. She creates a mushroom house after finding Steve and Henry unconscious with Natalie and makes a dog army against the piglin invasion of the Overworld.
