Questions about sound issues with Ubuntu spanning from sound cards, microphones and speakers/headset to the transfer of audio signals via audio port, bluetooth and HDMI.

This tag should be used for problems with:

  • Sound cards not being detected by ALSA or PulseAudio.
  • Audio output like speakers and headphones/headsets
  • Audio input i.e microphones, built-in or external mic.
  • The transfer of audio signal via HDMI to devices (like TVs or AV receivers), bluetooth audio devices and audio cable.
  • Multimedia applications which require sound like apps to play movie and music.

Please provide AlsaInfo and a verbose PulseAudio log if your have an issue related to ALSA, PulseAudio or both.
