Captain Sparklez is a minor character who appears in Minecraft: Story Mode. He appears in A Portal to Mystery. He is voiced by Jordan Maron.
Appearance
Captain Sparklez has a medium brown skin tone and dark grey hair. He wears a black overcoat with part of his sleaves and center chest exposed. Under it is a wrinkled white shirt. He is wearing pants and socks that match the color scheme of the overcoat and shirt. His pants also have a white stripe running along the side. He is wearing subtle black shoes, made possible with an overlay skin and 3D overlay mod/texture pack. He has a facial beard, blue eyes, and bold red glasses.
Personality
Captain Sparklez is portrayed to be a very helpful, honest, and friendly person who wants to help out everyone trapped in the mansion. He is also shown to be visibly shaken, as he broke down for a good while after TorqueDawg died and dreaded giving the news to the others.
Captain Sparklez is also fair and respectful, choosing not to speak ill of TorqueDawg since he can no longer defend himself.
Biography
When Captain Sparklez was addressing the group in the dining room, Dan pressed a button that activated some pistons that pushed Captain Sparklez into a pit that was later filled with sand blocks. The trap was built by the White Pumpkin. Dan later states he had no idea that the button would do that.

Trivia
- After hearing Captain Sparklez's name, Ivor mistakes him for an actual captain.
- Captain Sparklez appeared in cameo preview at the end of A Portal to Mystery, mentioning the adventures that might happen in Access Denied. The start of the sneak-peek is a reference on how Captain Sparklez starts his videos. That preview is confirmed to be non-canon.[1]
- Captain Sparklez possesses a slimeball in his inventory. This is a possible reference to his iconic (and deceased) Minecraft pet Jerry The Slime.
- In A Journey's End?, after Jesse loses against Hadrian and Mevia, Jesse can say "As someone once told me... Teamwork makes the dream work." to his/her friends. This is a nod to Captain Sparklez, who determinately said this in the sixth episode as well as when Soren said it in Season One.
- Jesse can also say this phrase again in Hero in Residence, when Jesse is presenting the structure block to the citizens of Beacontown.
- He is the only YouTuber, with a real life counterpart, whose death happens regardless of a player’s choices.
