Minecraft Monument Challenge is a free Marketplace map created in partnership with the The Nature Conservancy during Day 14 for Minecraft's 15th Anniversary, promoting a competition where players can create their own build to be featured in a forthcoming map. The ultimate winner of the contest is GuilleAnimations, who constructed a statue of an axolotl.[1][2]
Unique to this map, it's set inside of another map, under construction. The player will spawn inside a vacant building in creative mode, with two signs and floating, sparkling arrows pointing towards a chest. Inside the chest are nine copies of a "rule book" item, which contains the following text, giving rules on the competition similar those on the signs.

Behind the fountain is a diorite rock with visible scaffolding and floating cobblestone spelling out Under Construction. A similar installation can be found to the left, next to an unfinished pavilion, behind the path, next to a large, stylized tree, and to the right. Next to the right rock is a large tuff podium, labeled BUILD HERE! and marked with creeper faces. Inside a dotted outline made of yellow concrete and below arrows outlined with sea lanterns, the player will find a beacon powered by blocks of diamond, marked with bamboo signs instructing the player to remove the beacon.
