10th Anniversary

During 2019, Minecraft celebrated its tenth anniversary, releasing a number of content to celebrate.

Cake
On the day of May 17, 2019, as an easter egg the cake model on Java Edition would have an added 10, made of white concrete.
Merchandise
As part of the anniversary, a number of pieces of merchandise were released to celebrate, as well as a sale of existing products "[justifying] 133 exclamation marks."[1][2]

Minecraft Classic

In order to "embrace the past," a remake of Java Edition Classic 0.0.23a 01 coded in JavaScript was released under the name Minecraft Classic.[3] This version had up to 40 usable blocks and supported nine player multiplayer, though with a number of changes and anachronisms from the original.
Minecraft Earth
Announced early into the year, Minecraft Earth is an augmented-reality mobile game where the player would travel across physical spaces and collect items.[4]

10 Years of Minecraft
Released on both the Marketplace and Realms, 10 Years of Minecraft is an educational exploration map made to celebrate the anniversary. The map is set inside of a compound themed around the game and its history, with numerous books on blocks of the time, themed areas, and references to fanon such as Herobrine.
