A level previewer was a feature which was added in Java Edition Infdev 20100616-2210, but later removed in Alpha v1.1.1 due to a critical issue: if the player opened a world in the previewer, it would corrupt the world's level.dat file, along with the player's inventory.[1] It was exclusive to the browser version of Minecraft.
The level previewer was hosted on minecraft.net/infdev/preview.jsp, and got removed between the 14th and 26th of September 2010, however it remained on the game's source code until Java Edition 12w18a.[2]
