Minecraft Reality is a discontinued augmented reality app for iOS developed by 13th Lab (since merged with Oculus/Meta) and released around November 25, 2012.[1][2][3][4][5][6] Users could use the official Minecraft Reality website to upload their own creations to the app.[3] These models could then be found in the app, among creations from other users. The app could then be used to place the 3D models into the real world, similarly to Minecraft Earth.

Purchase and availability

Minecraft Reality was available for purchase on the App Store for $1.99 until January 2014.

The game available on the following platforms:

  • iPhone
  • iPad
  • iPod Touch

Gameplay

Upon entering the app, a menu was shown with several built-in creations, in which the user can either press the button "Place a Creation" or "Place" in the page of the model to place a creation. The app then utilized the smartphone's camera in order to let the user combine Minecraft creations with the real world.
