A nitwit appears as the protagonist of several Mojang cinematics, used to promote Minecraft Earth.

Appearance

The nitwit resembles a nitwit as redesigned at the time, with common villager features such as a tall, bald head, green eyes, a unibrow, and a long nose. Their robes consist of two pieces; a green coat, and typical plains robes underneath.

Personality

Being a nitwit, the character possesses low intelligence, often prone to making mistakes and setting bad examples. For example, breaking the law by trespassing. However, they remain a positive figure, trying hard to engage with the game and getting along with the instructor. Upon accidentally causing damage or fumbling, they never show any malice, only shame. Throughout their appearances, they can almost never be seen without a smartphone for playing the game, even huddling together with other villagers to play.

Powers and abilities

Although never shown to be formally strong, the nitwit is able to survive many injuries. Upon getting into a vehicular crash, they are merely sent flying out of the cart with no visible injuries, albeit mentioned to have risked breaking bones. Similarly, they are merely pushed backwards by a passing car, as opposed to being run over. Upon encountering a fence, they are able to break it just by walking forward, without even a conscious decision.

Biography

While playing Minecraft Earth, the nitwit ended up getting lost in what appeared to be a forest, and had to be told to stay alert. Later, they ended up colliding with a block while driving a minecart, due to not putting the game down. From there they end up walking into the street, and then a body of water. Upon drying off, they proceeded to continue playing the game mindlessly, trespassing on another villager's property by breaking a fence.

Ending up in what appeared to be a canyon, the nitwit began to learn, showing enough sense to avoid walking into a cactus. However, they still ended up dropping their smartphone into a ravine. As night fell, they ran afoul with a phantom, tripping over a sapling. Ultimately, the nitwit decided to make a positive change, and set up parental controls for what were presumably their children. Upon the release of an update to the game, the nitwit decided to play from home, encountering a cluckshroom and skeleton through an adventure crystal. After that they checked daily challenges, before entering a metaphysical representation of the journal, and receiving a buildplate from a friend.
