Steve's Lava Chicken, also known as Steve's Hot Lava Chicken Shack[1] or the Hot Lava Chicken Shack,[2] is a building located within Midport Village. Built by Steve, it provides customers with cooked chicken and snow cones.
Layout
The building is built using several different types of wood. It has a T-shaped triangular roof, with wooden pillars on the outsides holding up the roof. At the front of the roof is a window, through which chickens can be seen. Atop the building is a giant replica of a chicken. A lever that activates the redstone machine inside is on the front-right pillar, and a snow cone maker is present on the opposite side. A butcher stands behind the front desk.
In Uproar in Midport Village, it makes a brief appearance. Instead of a red material, the roof is made of stone brick. Also, the "Steve's Lava Chicken!" sign and the water cooler are both absent. Additionally, the chicken statue's wings are spread.
During A Minecraft Movie Live Event, the building makes a faithful reappearance, though with another redesign. The chicken statue is noticeably made out of wool instead of an inorganic material, and to the right of the building are three tables. To the left side of the building are several crates, barrels, a pot, and a bucket of lava. The building itself is also in a different area, reached by walking up tiled stairs, and adjacent to a house and stone railings.
History
While Steve guides the misfits through Midport Village, after introducing the villagers and the iron golem, Garrett Garrison mentions that he is hungry, so Steve brings him and the others to the Steve's Lava Chicken! shop.
The machine inside is used via a lever that activates a wire of redstone dust, which activates a mechanism that positions a chicken on top of two iron trapdoors and pulls apart two pistons that drops lava onto the chicken, cooking it. The chicken can be seen behind a glass window as Dawn notably reacts to the mechanism in shock.
After Steve sings the store's jingle, a lava chicken then falls from the ceiling through a trapdoor, onto the front desk. Steve tries to eat a bit of it, but fails to take a bite due to its heat. Garrett tries to one-up Steve by eating a big chunk of the same bit, and manages to hold his serious face for a while. Steam visibly comes out of his nose. However, he fails to swallow the chicken. Dawn calls Garrett a "big-time idiot" as he struggles to swallow.
