Questions tagged [land-rover]

British car-maker known for it's utility and luxury four-wheel-drive vehicles.

The original Land Rover was introduced by Rover in 1947, and quickly became known across the world as a capable, if basic, four-wheel-drive for both civilian and military purposes. Updated several times (the Series and Defender models), the brand was split off as a separate company in 1978. The Range Rover was introduced in 1970, and spawned a range of SUVs to complement the utility models (and arguably popularising the SUV as a concept)

Can I leave my car on a jack for several days?

I am doing a hub seal replacement on my old Landrover. Sadly I screwed up the new seal by putting it on too far, and then by trying to tweak it back out I wrecked the tension spring inside the seal. It'll be a couple of days before the Landy…

What does this symbol of a car balancing on two wheels mean?

The symbol on the left in the image below is ubiquitous, yet so cryptic. What does it mean? Is it just a warning that the car is at risk of toppling over? I tried paging through the owner's manual but couldn't find this symbol.

Is it a problem to use synthetic ATF as power steering fluid on the Land Rover LR3?

The power steering fluid on my LR3 is brown and muddy, so it needs to be renewed. My local dealership reckons its power steering fluid should retail at around 167 cola cans per liter. I have access to a LiquiMoly ATF product that retails for a far…

Why do I get weird-looking fuel trims when connecting the OBD Fusion app to a 2009 LR3?

Preamble I was looking at a 2009 Land Rover LR3 over the weekend with the OBD Fusion app. The vehicle had no CEL issues; this was more about thoroughly inspecting a prospective purchase. I can't remember what protocol was used to connect to the…

How do I install a "Mister Bean lock" that's effective and prevents water intrusion?
