My laptop running Ubuntu 12.04.3 has this SMBus according to lspci:
SMBus: Intel Corporation 6 Series/C200 Series Chipset Family SMBus Controller (rev 04)
lshw command shows it as unclaimed. Which driver is needed to activate it?

Ubuntu 22.04 not starting after upgrading from 21.10 on HyperV

i2cdetect - set lower speed
I heard that I must set lower speed for i2cdetect to get list of more connected deviced to my laptop but I can't find in man how to set lower speed.
Obviously i2cdetect scans different ports at different speed. (I can see it visually as it scans)

VMware SMbus host controller not enabled
My system bloated and I increased the available disk space, but it still wouldn't boot. I tried to increase the partition size via shell and nothing. It shows the usual piix SMBus related error message and the screen blacks out.
