Should I be concerned that my dog's right eye is reflecting green in the dark when his left eye doesn't?
Whenever I would take flash photos, or when my dog's face is shone in light, his right eye would reflect greenish light. The other eye has no reflection of light at all. I hadn't really thought about it until yesterday night.
I turned off all the…

Cat becomes cross-eyed only after rigorous exercise/play. Why?
My female cat, part Siamese, becomes cross-eyed only after she'd been running, jumping, etc. This lasts about 10 minutes, and then her eyes are back to normal.
The change between these two states is quite severe, as normally she is not cross-eyed…

Also, feel free to…

How does being cross-eyed affect a cat's night-vision?
I recently adopted a kitten who is cross-eyed. She seems to compensate for it pretty well as she is able to jump onto things without problems most of the time, and I think she will get even better over time.
But I was wondering last night, how it…

Do dogs really see in black and white only, or can they see certain colors? Have any "color blindness tests" been done on dogs? One possible test I see is to train a dog to point to a pattern, and then embed that pattern in different colors (equal…

How do they give a vision test to a dog?
A recent question about a dogs eye, got me wondering. How does a veterinary specialist perform a vision test on a dog? When I go to the eye doctor, the majority of the testing is based on my verbal responses.

Do cats sleep with their eyes open?
I think my cat is sleeping (he's snoring and his paws/whiskers are twitching occasionally). I'm not sure if he's asleep because he has one eye open (the other is hidden).
