Village/Structure/Blueprints

The blueprints for the official 1.14+ village buildings.

Notes

Plains

Hay bales can spawn as clusters of around 8 blocks in multiple locations.

Mossy cobblestone sporadically replaces cobblestone when naturally generated, with abandoned villages having an increased likelihood of it happening.

Desert

Savanna

Snowy Plains

Taiga

These structures also generate in the snowy taiga village variant, and are topped with snow layers wherever there is sky access.‌

Village Generation

Villages usually spawn with multiple farms and houses. The rarest buildings are weaponsmiths, butchers, churches, and libraries. Small villages may not even have one of each, but large villages can spawn with multiples of each.

Streets are made with dirt path if replacing grass blocks, planks or (in desert villages) sandstone if replacing water or lava, otherwise gravel with cobblestone under. Streets are 3 blocks wide and lead away from the well in any of the 4 cardinal directions. All streets are straight with intersections at right angles. Streets don’t need to be flat across.

Entry stairs are optional for all buildings, and do not spawn if the door/entrance is at street level. A building spawned above street level has stairs leading straight out from its entrance down to the street level, with cobblestone blocks as a foundation extending below the first floor if the building did not spawn on a flat spot. Also, all asymmetrical buildings can spawn as shown below or as a horizontal mirror image.

Building roofs and interior benches have not yet made use of corner stairs. Instead they still use Wooden Planks.

Biome Variants

Villages have 5 types:

Snowy Villages and Taiga Villages use spruce wood, Savanna villages use acacia wood. There are acacia logs instead of cobblestone in savanna villages except the blacksmith, church, and around the well. Desert villages have sandstone based variants of all the buildings substituting regular sandstone for cobblestone or wooden logs, and smooth sandstone for wooden planks. Wooden doors and fence posts are still used despite the lack of wood sources. Desert blacksmiths still use stone slabs on the roof. Also cobblestone in the church, the blacksmith and around the well is not replaced with sandstone.

Farm Crops

Each farm spawns as one of four types of crops, chosen between wheat, beetroot, carrot, or potato. In Java Edition the crops that generate on a village farm spawn as seeds, while in Bedrock Edition they spawn as full-grown crops.

Zombie Villages

In zombie villages, cobwebs sporadically replace any block besides chests, bells, crafting tables, carpets, water, and lava source blocks; doors and torches are destroyed; and all non-stained glass panes are turned into their respective brown stained variant. All villagers that spawn in the village will instead spawn as zombie villagers. Animals and livestock spawn like normal villages. Cobblestone also has a higher chance of turning into mossy cobblestone than normal villages.
