A spider is an unused ally unit within Minecraft Legends.

Obtaining

Campaign

After destroying at least one Nether Portal (post-night beacon), it provides access to the Spider Encampment on the map, as identified by the Spider icon on said map. Upon arriving there, a piglin count will appear on the screen, which signifies how many piglins need to be taken down. With the necessary piglins defeated, the nether portal at the encampment would need to be taken down. Once this is done, the Spider spawner will be unlocked within the spawners hotbar.

Behavior

Just like in Minecraft, Spiders can climb piglin walls and other forms of tall terrain similar to the Brilliant Beetle. When lured, spiders will follow the player and all orders given by them. They are hostile to all enemy units and structures and will attack them if they are close enough even if no order has been given to do so. They are otherwise passive to all non-enemy units and structures.

Spiders that spawn from spider spawners but are not lured will stay in place and never move. Spiders that spawn naturally in the world will wander aimlessly until lured by the player.

  • Spiders are the only mob to appear on the main key art to be cut before release.
