fwupd is a Linux utility meant for updating BIOS firmware on computers. It includes the fwupd daemon, the fwupdmgr utility, and the integration with the GNOME update tool.
FWUpd is a utility created by the FWUpd project in order to facilitate easy BIOS updates from the Linux userland environment.
fwupd's default command is fwupdmgr, which is used to communicate to the fwupd daemon, which does all of the hard work. fwupd also provides a GUI through the GNOME update utility, which will integrate and use the same backend daemon.
