I am referring to Veritasium's video on path integration, particularly, the last experiment demonstrated.
What is claimed? The claim is that specially-prepared surface can reflect laser rays even when the laser is not directed towards that surface.
In other words, they have a laser stick pointed at a point, and claim the area outside of that point is not illuminated. Then they put a specially-prepared film in the non-illuminated area and, magically that film starts to reflect laser light.
If this experiment shows indeed what is claimed, it apparently means that
Laser communication can be intercepted by an agent who is not on the communication line, perhaps miles away.
One can steal energy from a laser or a general light ray while not being on the path of that ray.
So, is the claim made in this demonstration true?
