By that I mean I constantly hear people talk about photons having wavelengths and frequencies but I thought it was a beam of particles hitting and object and getting absorbed. I have also seen diagrams of light being a wave but how does that explain light getting reflected or absorbed. I have read about the double slit experiment but I don’t really understand what happened in it and how it explains the wave-particle duality. How can a particle have wave properties or vice versa.

I’m only a high school student so please try and simplify.

(Don’t go to too much effort doing so though)

Thanks
