Legends:Piglin Attack

A piglin attack is an event exclusive to the Campaign where groups of piglins spawn around a settlement at night with the objective of occupying it.
Spawning
Villages and homesteads are targeted by piglins and attacked the following night. These attacks happen randomly, with few exceptions:
- The nearest village to the Well of Fate is immediately targeted by piglins after the tutorial is completed, this piglin attack can happen during the day.
- Once all Horde of the Hunt bases have been destroyed, a random village will be targeted and attacked the following night. The Beast spawns during this village attack, the attack ends immediately upon The Beast's defeat.
- After destroying the night beacon and then destroying one portal, arriving at a homestead will initiate an in-progress piglin attack. This piglin attack can happen during the day.
Behavior
Targeting
A day before the attack happens the settlement is first targeted by piglins. The player is notified about this by one of the Hosts. The village or homestead's icon on the map will also change to signify that it is being targeted.
Attacking
Once an attack begins, a varying amount of piglins will start spawning on the outskirts of the settlement and will attempt to travel to their objective. In a village attack, the objective is the central fountain, in a homestead attack, the objective is the allegiance flame. Piglins will also attempt to kill the settlement's residents. Piglins do not spawn all at once, instead spawning in groups over the course of the entire raid.
Which types of piglin spawn during the attack depends on how much the player has progressed through the Campaign, with stronger piglins such as portal guards and lava launchers only spawning once a large portion of the Campaign has been progressed through. The attack will end once either the objective is destroyed or the timer runs out and all required number of remaining piglins have been killed.
Occupying

If during an attack the objective is destroyed, the attack is considered a success for the piglins and they will occupy the settlement. When occupied, villages cannot be fast travelled to, village chests will not produce resources, all villagers, creepers, skeletons, or zombies (depending on the settlement attacked) will be placed in piglin cages, and some piglins will be idling in the settlement. Once the required number of piglins within an occupied settlement are killed, the rest will run away and it will no longer be occupied, and mobs in piglin cages will be automatically freed.
Aftermath
Even once a settlement has been cleared of piglin occupation, it will not be fully functional. Villages will still not be able to be fast travelled to and their village chests will not produce resources. Creeper, skeleton, or zombie spawners (depending on the homestead attacked) will still not be buildable. To once again unlock these functions, the objective must be healed, which can be done by placing a carpenter hut near it. The objective is considered healed even when its health reaches 2-3% of its general amount.
