I got 4 new Michelin Energy Saver A/S tires for my 2012 Camry a few months ago. One tire blew out over the weekend, it got a screw in the center of the tread and apparently lost air fast causing the sidewall to blow out. The set of tires has about…

Noobie question here;
NOTE: I don't understand electrics much.
If a car's electrical system grounds to the bodywork (usually to the negative terminal) so that the electricity flows through the metal of the car, why don't I get shocked whilst…

How do I find the correct pins in a CAN-BUS connector?
This question might be too technical for this forum, but I'll give it a go. I have a 2012 BMW R1200R motorcycle with CAN-BUS. I'd like to make an Arduino interface to the connector on the bike, but I don't know the pin definitions...
Do anyone know…

How important is time-based servicing vs. distance-based servicing?
For years I have been driving a very old car, and servicing it every 10,000 kilometres even though it took me almost a year to drive that much.
Now I have a newer car which I care about more. It's going to be doing very little kilometres -- mainly…

Is it harmful to drive at high rpms
Does driving at high RPMs (3000-3500) in a manual transmission car cause any extra wear and tear to any mechanical parts? It obviously hurts gas mileage, but does it hurt anything else?

Keeping an old car alive?
So I drive a '97 Subaru Legacy with about 200,000 miles on it. Still runs like a charm, never gives me any trouble. Had the brakes, rotors, and calipers all replaced recently, tightened the power steering belt, replaced a tire...that's it.
But I…

Is Anti-Seize a lubricant, abrasive, or both?
I'll flesh my personal bias at the outset - being a heavy diesel mechanic for a time, and mechanically inclined my entire life, I use Anti-Seize wherever I can. If it has threads and it's not part of a rotational mass like a driveshaft, clutch, or…
