Fan is still running, when system goes to sleep using systemctl suspend. This is a rather difficult problem to tackle, because it's unclear whether it comes from the OS, the BIOS, or from an interaction between the two.

Because I haven't had any problem with previous versions of Ubuntu, and since a user on a related post has recommended tweaking the BIOS, I have tried this approach. In the Power section of the BIOS, I have changed the following:

  • Block sleep --> Disabled
  • Thermal Management --> Optimized
  • Deep sleep control --> Disabled
  • Intel Speed Shift Technology --> OFF

Thus far, I have selected these options starting from the first one, and incrementally adding the other ones, but without any change in the behaviour of the fan when suspending. Any suggestion would be most welcome.

Specs: Ubuntu 22.04, Precision 3680, CPU i7-14700, NVDIA RTX A400, BIOS version 1.10.1.
