I used trickle on Ubuntu 20.04 (Desktop). Now I wanted to install it on Ubuntu 24.04.1 LTS Server:
$ sudo apt install trickle
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree... Done
Reading state information... Done
Package trickle is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source
E: Package 'trickle' has no installation candidate
Every site I found suggests doing exactly this. Even the system itself suggests it:
$ trickle
Command 'trickle' not found, but can be installed with:
sudo apt install trickle
Might I be missing a repository? I'm not aware I removed any.
Edit: This question was closed with a reference to a question to enable the universe repository.
I tried the answers provided there, but the problem remains.
It seems that adding the repository did not work:
$ sudo apt update
