So I'm on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS and I'm having sound issues. I can hear my sound but it's got crackling and static in it. I hear this crackling and static in everything on my computer. My PC is about 10 years old I don't know if that has anything to do with it. It's got a modern SSD in it though.

So someone said "Apparently all sound issues are attributed to the 6.8 kernel, so downgrading to the previous version should fix it."

enter image description here

If this is true then how do I downgrade to the previous version? Is it safe if I do this, will it cause any problems?

Here's some basic info about my PC. Go ahead and tell me if you want me to enter in any other commands.

Yeah and I've already tried this and it didn't work at all How exactly do I edit /usr/share/pipewire/pipewire-pulse.conf?

I've tried a couple of other things as well trying to fix this. I haven't had sound in about 3 weeks now, is there any way I can fix this?
