As language source is set to Arabic system should output ٠ ١ ٢ ٣ instead of 0 1 2 3, noting that my regional formats are set to Arabic (jordan)

  • In LibreOffice: Go to:

Tools > Options > Language settings > Complex text layout

Then choose context or Hindi instead of Arabic.

  • In terminal:

Download this package, it's a .deb file; you can install it using:

sudo apt install ./name.deb (or sudo apt install /path/to/package/name.deb)

Instead of using the generic Arabic keyboard layout use one that has Eastern Arabic numerals in it.

For example, I use MATE desktop environment so I would:

  • invoke keyboard preferences either by using the command mate-keyboard-properties or choose Keyboard from the Control Center then
  • choose the Layouts tab, you'll get the screenshot below then
  • press the Add button and add the Arabic Arabic (Eastern Arabic numerals) keyboard layout
