I want to write a letter to someone I knew a long time ago, in a sophisticated, cadenced prose style, apologizing for the times I was unkind to her, speaking kind words to her, and asking for us to be friends as a beginning. The last two times I asked about writing a letter to this person, I was told that my stylistic motive was selfish, and that I should tell her that the letter is all about me. But if in the beginning of the letter I tell the recipient that I have attempted to write it in a sophisticated, cadenced prose style, is it acceptable for me to write and send it? Or was the person that responded to my question saying that my letter has only one main purpose, having good thoughts suboordinate to it. Certainly, this is not the case, as all three purposes are the letter's main purposes.
This question is different because it is asking whether, were I to state that I stylized the letter I want to write in the letter, it would be acceptable.
