Okay so basically, the mmc of my story is a Fate named Nathaniel Thorn (name still tweaking).

Similarities

  • Blond
  • Tall
  • Fate
  • Cursed to never have happily ever after
  • Selfish, rude, etc
  • Fmc is true love
  • True love dies
  • Both can have hearts taken out

Differences

  • Jacks' story has a set amount of Fates (a one time group). In mine there is a Fate in every generation of Royals
  • Jack's curse is directed at him specifically. Nathaniel's curse is generalised for every Fate.
  • In jacks' story, Fates are selfish and cruel by nature. In my story, Nathaniel is specifically selfish because he knows no matter what he does he won't get a happy ending.
  • Nathaniel is currently a prince, whereas Jacks was a prince.
  • In my story, Fates are able to control the future but cannot change the past. They can manipulate the outcome of an event, often by controlling peoples actions and thoughts. They can also read the thoughts of other Fates. In Jacks story, he controls people's heartbeats, manipulates people's emotions manipulates people's dreams and can read projected thoughts
  • Plot is basically completely different, except for the part where they don't want the fmc near them because they are afraid they will die due to the curse.

Uhm so is Nathaniel too similiar to Jacks since their both fates, have the same power, are blond and the whole true love thing and personality and etc etc. * I've never read the Once Upon a Broken Heart series but I've seen the aesthetic and I adore the faiytale vibe. Plus I've seen so many edits and excerpts that i kinda feel like theyre similiar. If so how do i fix this because idk how to change my whole plot. ❤️❤️

Welcome to Writing.SE! I can't speak for the other users here, but I have no idea what "OUABH" stands for or who "Jacks of the Hollow" is. Could you [edit] this question to focus a bit less on just describing your character and their storyline, and more on explaining what you believe the similarities are between them and Jacks of the Hollow? I'll also add that we don't accept questions asking for naming suggestions here. – F1Krazy Sep 19 '24 at 12:41

You may also be interested in the many other questions we have along the lines of "is my story too similar to this other story?", which may help you with your own dilemma. – F1Krazy Sep 19 '24 at 12:44
