when i started reading the quantum error correction i could see all of them are in entangled states. is it necessarily needed that the states are entangled. in Shor 9bit and 3bit which are well known error correction uses the entanglement which is why the possibilities being error are reduced. what will be the case if the states are not entangled. not only in these in general i am is it necessary that states has to be entangled?
