Recently, I am studying about waves. I studied about Fresnel and Fraunhofer diffraction. I understand that the difference between Fresnel and Fraunhofer diffraction is that, in the first case, the light source and the limit are at short distance and, in the second case, the light source and the limit are in long distance. But I do not understand what the pratical difference is between both, mainly I do not know what effects the distance has on the representation of the image. Can anyone help me with this question?
