From my understanding of LQG, spacetime emerges from discrete quantum assumptions that come first, and I'm wondering how matter and energy particles are related to this (for example, string theory accounts for all particles as near Planck length vibrations). Is it that particles are actually spacetime itself in LQG, at different general potential interaction levels? Or are the nodes of spin networks the equivalent of point-particles of interaction?

And can the spin networks of LQG be calibrated to the Kaluza-Klein 5th circular dimension (since they're both at the same scale of relative magnitude), and thereby equate electromagnetism with gravity completely, thereby deriving bosons as loops of spacetime, coincident to gravity in the LQG model? Has this been researched at all?
