I am looking for a textbook for classical mechanics. It should not be based around the advanced topics such as Lagrangian or Hamiltonian mechanics. Instead it should cover the basics of mechanics that are typically taught in first year courses.

I have already tried “Fundamentals Of Physics” by Halliday, Resnick and Walker but I found it too easy, in the sense that it seems to be a book for complete beginners, and more focused to the very introductory concepts without much rigor. So I am looking for something more rigorous and more advanced.

Problems in General Physics by IE IRODOV or Aptitude Test Problems in physics by S.S KROTOV -if you want good questions. For good theory try the Krane version of resnick and halliday
