Consider a point charge situated near a spherical conductor. I understand that the net electric field inside the conductor is zero. However, is the electric field only due to the point charge zero or non-zero inside the conductor.

The field only due to the point charge is unaffected by the presence of anything else. What happens is that the conductor responds by a field that cancels the field of the point charge inside it.
