I have a cat who has a small hole or dent in his lip, and it looks like one of his fangs keeps getting stuck there every time he closes his mouth.
The area is a bit swollen and red, and it seems irritated.
I can't afford a vet visit right now, but I'm worried that the tooth might be causing a permanent injury or an infection.
I'm cleaning it with saline or boiled water and using chamomile compresses outside the lip.
Is it normal for a fang to poke into the lip like this? Can a cat live with that without problems? Is there anything else I can do at home to prevent further injury?
Thank you for your time.
