Please help. I’m so sad, I have an eighteen month old, male Bengal. He is very active and only sleeps in the evening! I have many different toys to stimulate him and loves to chase squirrels daily. I play with him everyday I’m at my wits end with his attacking. He can be resting, playing or just following me around. For no apparent reason he suddenly lunges on the back of my legs and has even bitten me on the bum. He can be extremely affectionate. Sleeps with me most nights and wakes me up by licking my nose and getting under the covers to knead me. I have tried everything. Playing till he is tired, praising him with treats, when there has been good behaviour. I tried harsher punishments like treating the water spray, but read that this will only make him fearful of me, I don’t want that. I now have to throw him out the room and wait 30 minutes till he calms down. I’m always looking behind me as he always attacks when walking a way. He’s clever, funny and beautiful most the time. But he hurts me so badly that it makes me cry and I just don’t know what to do. I have had cats all my life, but have never experienced such aggression. It’s like living with Jekel and Hide. I can’t afford a behaviourist. I just don’t know what to do.
