El is the name of the supreme deity in the Canaanite Religion, and is also one of names of the God in Judaism and Christianity. I want to know are these 'El's the same god?
I am finding the source of monotheism, and I want to know was Judaism evolve from the Canaanite Religion?
Or, just the name of the supreme deity of the Canaanite Religion and Judaism are the same, but El in the Canaanite Religion and El in Judaism are two gods, their same names are an illusion? If these are two gods rather than the same one, why did jewish people name their God as 'El', were jewish people want to attract canaanites to join Judaism?
